Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami

Guru Purnima, 2005

We are happy to bring Satguruspeaks back to our web site after a year of down time while we migrated to new technologies, bringing both the audio and transcript to you at the same time and providing a quick access method to recent talks.

Our transcriber team is to be congratulated for their hard work. We have been working with transcriptions in a new XML format for about two years and we will have many wonderful new talks coming to the web in the future, from not only Bodhinatha but from Gurudeva also.

Please note: this page only comprises talks that were not posted to TAKA since August 2004. We will continue to work to bring all of Bodhinatha's and Gurudeva's past talks into a one integrated system. Meanwhile you can always go to the current catagory pages to listen to past talks posted on TAKA.

In our new format, we are not breaking up long talks as we had done years ago. Now you get a complete talk and a complete transcript, all at the same time. The price for this is, of course, larger files and longer downloads. But users have long told us that breaking up the talks meant they lost continuity and we felt this was a better way to deliver. These are MP3 audio files and the length of the talk will give you some idea of the download time, depending on your band width. You can bookmark this page to check for updates, or stay tune to TAKA which will link to the new talks as they come through.

Audio Player Options

  • The first embedded Quicktime link will automatically start streaming the file if you have Quicktime installed. We always recommend that you install the latest version of Quicktime, which is now Version 7 for both Mac and Windows. Go here to Apple's Web site and click "Free Download".
  • The second "Download MP3" link will simply link to the audio file. It may try to book Quicktime in a separate window. But, use your option or control key when clicking the link to force your browser to download the file to your computer. This is the recommended option for low band width users or for those who want to keep these upadesha's on their own computer. Download the file and listen later.
  • The Real Player option simply delivers the standard Real Audio "satguruspeaks.ram" file which should allow Real One users to stream the file as usual.

Though we have tested these pages, we depend on you, the user, to help us improve our systems. We kindly ask you to please send reports on *any* problems you may have tostudyhall@hindu.org.We depend on your feedback to make sure everything is working as it should be.
